Seizure management in education and child development
Training aim:
To provide information about epilepsy and the causes, nature, recognition and first aid management of seizures including administration of prescribed intranasal midazolam.
Learning outcomes:
Participants can explain in lay terms the causes, nature and first aid management of seizures including administration of prescribed intranasal midazolam.

Basic first aid training including resuscitation.

Cost:
The cost of the course is funded by DECS for staff who have a student with epilepsy/at risk of seizures in their care. Other care providers for the student (for example out of school hours care staff) can, with the approval of the workstie manager, attend a DECS-funded worksite course without paying a fee.
Relevant for:
Education and children's services personnel supporting a person at risk of having a seizure and/or who has prescribed intranasal midazolam.
