Asthma First Aid Training

The Asthma Foundation SA runs free Asthma First Aid Training in schools and preschools to support staff to better manage an asthma attack and to become more confident in responding to an asthma emergency should it happen in the classroom.

The one-hour session covers asthma facts, symptoms, triggers and medications, as well as conditions linked to asthma, exercise-induced asthma, recognising and assessing an asthma attack and asthma first aid.

Once training has been completed the school or preschool can easily attain 'asthma friendly' status by adopting the Asthma Foundation best practice guidelines.
