Anaphylaxis Prevention Recognition and Management in Education and Children's Services

Training aim:
To provide information on anaphylaxis prevention, recognition and first aid management.
To allow staff who will provide anaphylaxis first aid, including use of a prexcribed Epi-pen, to practice this procedure using an Epi-pen trainer.

Duration:1 Hour

Cost:
The cost of the course is funded by the Department for Education & Child Development (ECD) for staff who have a student in their care who has, or is at risk of havng seizures. Other care providers for the student (for example out of school hours care staff) can, with the approval of the worksite manager, attend a ECD-funded worksite course without paying a fee.

Relevant for:
All education and children's services personnel supporting a person with a history of anaphylaxis and a prescribed Epi-pen.
